Description
Strain CWL-029 is cultured in HL cells. Microbix has a proprietary production process allowing for optimal yield of C. pneumoniae elementary bodies. The final preparation is resuspended in SPG buffer and gamma irradiated. View the Sample Product Information Sheet.
Chlamydophila pneumoniae is an emerging intracellular bacterial pathogen that causes both upper and lower respiratory tract infections. According to reliable reports, C. pneumoniae accounts for 10-25% of community-acquired pneumonia cases. As studies suggest, this bacterium may play a role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis while other studies are exploring possible links with Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, and asthma.
Inactivation & Safety — Each lot of Chlamydiae antigen inactivated using gamma radiation and this inactivation verified using a sensitive tissue culture based infectivity assay.
Applications — ELISA, Western Blot.
